Happy Halloween

Halloween is creeping up fast!  This week I am using this cute, haunted tree from Prickley Pear for my focus on the card.  The spider web background paper fits perfectly with the webs in his bare branches.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and added some pearls to the card for a bit of embellishments.  Check out more inspiration on the PPRS blog today!

Mystical and Magical Part 2

When I think of Mystical things, my thoughts go to Harry Potter.  This owl looks like Hedwig, waiting to be sent with a message.  I used white matte paste on the Owl stencil.  When the pasted was dry, I placed the stencil over the image and colored it with Distress Ink.  I cut out the larger Oak leaf and Acorns for an accent. Then added some Candi to complete the card.  Check out more mystical projects starting with...

Sweet Juliet Collection

These two cards that I made today are using the new Sweet Juliet Collection stamps from Heartfelt Creations.  In both samples I used the Beautiful Juliet stamp set and the Blessing to Me stamp set.  These cards are more clean and simple, yet are elegant.  I used the Sweet Juliet paper for the background of each card.  Then I added some of the tattered flowers to the cards for extra embellishment.  All images are colored with Copic Markers.  Be sure to look at the HC blog for more inspiration!

Harvest Leaves

Today I am using the new Leaf set from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  I stamped the larger leaves and wheat stamp onto a cream paper and cut out with an oval die.  Leave the die over the paper and sponge with some Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  The background was done with a sizzix embossing folder.  I added a sentiment into the open area along with some Washi tape.  Then I cut out some leaves, cut them out with the matching leaf die and colored them with Copic Markers.  Finally, I added them to the card for some extra embellishments.  Check out some gorgeous samples on the PPRS blog!

PPRS October Sketch Challenge

We decided that it would be fun to bring back the Prickley Pear Monthly Sketch Challenge!  Simply make a card using at least one PPRS Stamp or die product, post it to your blog, and link to our blog with Mr. Linky!  On the first of each month, you will have a chance to win fabulous Prickley Pear product valued at over $25.  All entries must be posted to your blog and linked to Mr. Linky on our blog by October 14th.  One lucky winner will be chosen and announced by October 15th.  And the winning card will be featured on our blog as well as our facebook!

And now for our Sketch:

I made two samples from this sketch.  Both cards feature two of my favorite stamps from Prickley Pear.  The Giraffe and the Black Eye Susans are some of my most inked stamps in my collection.  The giraffe is perfect for masculine cards.
With the Black Eye Susans, they work for so many occasions and can be colored in many different ways.  This month's sketch is simple, but has lots of room to play and add embellishments to make them uniquely yours.
Be sure to hop on over to the PPRS blog to see what others are creating with this sketch and join the fun this month.  We look forward to seeing what you come up with and with a chance to win free product...join us!

Mystical and Magical

The theme for the month of October is Mystical and Magical.  The fall season with the falling leaves, the chill in the air and the anticipation of harvest...feels Magical.  I used the swirling leaves with glossy white embossing paste and Art Institute glitter.  Once the paste dried, I added removable tape around the four sides of the paper and sponged with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  Then I removed the tape to show the cream border.  I finished the image with a popped up sentiment from Quietfire designs. Peace on Earth

Today, I am using the Peace on Earth sentiment as my focus.  Then I added some Poinsettias and Holly Leaves to add some accents.  On the sentiment piece I cut the piece down to a square, then I cut the corners off at a 45 degree angle to make an octagon.  Finally, I used removable tape around all the sides and sponged the center with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  I removed the tape and now have a crisp cream edge around the sentiment.  For more detailed instructions, check out the HC blog!  Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!
