Prickley Pear Spring Release...Day 1

I hope you enjoyed all the new Riley and Company cards that we brought to you last week.  This week we have an all new release from Prickley Pear.  These new stamps are simply adorable, so be sure to check them out each day this week. Today I am featuring the new Row Houses clear set and matching dies.

 This first card, I only used the house and roof to create this cute house.  Adding some of the other elements of clouds, trees and the little bird from this set to create a simple scene.  I used the new Riley Pierced Oval Die to create the frame, then embossed the frame with a classic cuttlebug embossing folder.  The Taylored Expression clouds were embossed on light blue paper, then I rubbed Memories white dye ink over the clouds to help them stand out. Finally I used the Home Sweet Home sentiment that is included on this set to create a banner.  This would be perfect for someone moving into a new home!

For this card, I used the extra floor piece to make a second story house.  You can mix and match elements to create the perfect custom house.  I made a watercolor background as the backdrop for the house.  Using a cut out frame that I had laying on my desk, I popped it up onto the card and added all the pieces into it.  Notice the little kitten sitting in front of the house?  Isn't she adorable?  This kitty is also part of this set.  This also has a die included in the matching die set, so it is easy to cut her out and pop her into the picture!  Finally, I stamped the sentiment under the frame.

Prickley Pear Release Day 2

After Valentine's Day, we are moving on to St. Patrick's Day!  In the new release there are five great stamps for this Irish holiday.

I really love this Irish Blessing.  This can work for Graduations and Wedding cards as well.

I used the Shamrocks on white cardstock, then overlayed it with vellum that I had embossed the sentiment on.

I paired this Pot of Gold and flowers with the Shamrock banner from the Spring/Easter Clear Set.  You will find this great sentiment included in the set too!

Happy 2015!

It's hard to believe another year has gone by...how time flies.  Today I am using more of a winter stamp.  This cardinal flourish stamp is from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp.  I used a cuttlebug embossing folder to make the embossed frame on decorator paper.  Then I sanded the design to make it pop.  Then I used the Poinsettia Leaf die and Leaf set die to make the embellishing folliage.  Finally I stamped the sentiment onto a white strip and popped it onto the card.  There are more gorgeous cards on the PPRS blog, so check them out!

Letterpress Embossing Tutorial

 Today I am doing a tutorial using the Cuttlebug embossing folders.  Here is my finished product using the Black Capped Chickadee stamp from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  The dies are all from Cheery Lynn Designs and the sentiment is from the Scalloped Circle Oval 5 clear set.  Now this is how it's done...

 First of all, you stamp the image onto white card stock.  Then color it with Copic Markers.

 Next, ink up the raised part of the embossing folder with a dye ink.  I like to use the lighter colors for this so it doesn't take away from the image especially with the ink pressing in over the picture.  Adirandack Light ink pads work good!

Place the stamped paper into the embossing folder with the inked side over the front of the paper.  Run through your embossing machine.  Then assemble your card with embellishments and dies.

Thankful

November is the month to remember all that we have to be thankful for.  So today I am using a card that is for giving thanks.  This Prickley Pear Flourished Ovals 2 Fall Clear set is what I used from the focus of my card.  I then placed a circle cut out that I embossed with the distress strips folder behind the image.  To add more embellishment to the card I also used the flourished leaves from Cheery Lynn and Candi.  Check out more Monday inspiration on the PPRS blog!

Dreamweaver/Stampendous Grand Finale

 Today is the Final Day and the Grand Finale of the Collaboration with Stampendous Rubber Stamps and Dreamweaver Stencils!  All the Design Team members form both groups will be featuring a slew of amazing projects and of course...prizes!!

I used the Queen Bee Perfectly Clear stamp set from Stampendous.  I cut out the image with the large scallop Circle Die from Spellbinders.  While the die was still on the paper, I sponged the inside with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  Then I used the Dreamweaver Thank You Stencil and embossed it with the Black Matte Embossing Paste.   I stamped and colored the bee.  Then I cut out the bee and popped it up onto the card.  All stamped images are colored with Copic Markers.

You Color my World

Today I am using the Scalloped Oval Clear Set from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps as my focus along with the Scalloped Oval Die.  Then to add some accents to the card, I used the Spring Poinsettia Clear Set with the matching Poinsettia Leaf Die.  Tuck in some of the olive leaves from Cheery Lynn Designs and pop up onto the Embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  Hop on over to the PPRS Blog for more inspiration today!

Cheery Lynn and PPRS Cross Promotion Day #2

Today I am using the DL242 Kissimmee Doily Die from Cheery Lynn Designs again.  This tie I am using the entire die with the angel wing piece.  Once I adhered the doily to the scallop edge, I cut the doily in half and adhere a strip of pink cardstock between the two halves.  This allowed me to "stretch"  the die.  Then I stamped the Dove looking Down from Prickley Pear onto a white piece of cardstock and colored it with Copic Markers.  Then I cut out the B285 Friend die out of blue cardstock and adhered it to the card.

Mini Butterflies 2

All stamps on this card used on this card is from the CLR023A Mini Butterflies 2 Clear Set.  This is one of the new clear sets that was just released from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  On this card, I stamped the daisy background stamp several times on white cardstock.  I colored them with Copic Markers.  Then I sponged the edges of this piece with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.  I added faux stitches along the sides with my Scor-Buddy and Scor-Bug.  Finally, I distress the edges with the Making Memories Distressing tool.  The label is a Sizzix die.  I left the die over the paper and sponged it with the Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.  I then cut out the butterflies with the PPRS D023 Mini Butterflies die.  Then I stamped the butterflies onto the cut outs.  I colored the butterflies with Copic Markers, formed the wings and glued the bodies to the card.  I finished the card with cream pearls from my Viva Decor Pearl Pens.  Hope you hop on over to the PPRS blog for more inspiration from the Design Team!

Prickley Pear New Release Day 5

Welcome back to another day of new images and inspiration from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  Today I used the HH0032 Boy with Fishing Pole and the CLR023A Mini Butterflies Clear Set.  I colored the boy with Copic Markers and then found some decorator paper to math.  I embossed the lighter decorator strip with the Herringbone Embossing folder and lightly sanded it to distress the "ribbon".  Then I cut out some butterflies, stamped the images and color them with Copic Markers to match the paper.  The sentiment is from an older CLR011A Dragonfly 2 clear set.  I sponged the background with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink.  Be sure to comment for a chance to win some FREE images from this new release!!  Also, if you haven't already, join us on FACEBOOK to enter contest and giveaways.  For lots of inspiration, join us on PINTEREST.  The Design Team is working hard to bring you lots of fun ideas and projects!!  Now check out more fun ideas...

Prickley Pear Bird Stamp

I just wanted to showcase the Build a Bird Clear Set from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. First you cut out the bird and the wings.  Then you stamp onto the cut out bird.  Both samples are using the Distress Inks to color the bird.  The first card is put on the cuttlebug embossed background, then cut out some of the diamonds to show some color through to the front.  On second card, I used the Tim Holtz Diffusers with the the embossing folder to leave an unembossed surface to stamp my sentiment. Add the branch accent with some Candi to dress up the card.

Embossing Backgrounds

Here is a sample of one of the cards that will be done in the Background Techniques class at The Stamp Shoppe.  To see a schedule of our classes, you can go to our website.  The sentiment for this card is from My Sentiments Exactly!  The 3-D flowers were made with the Heartfelt Creations Tattered Blossoms stamp set and cut out with their matching die.  The flowers were colored with Copic Markers R46 and R59.  The swirl die that was used here, was from Magnolia.  Come in to see more Background Technique cards!!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Double Embossing Tutorial

 First I used the VersaMark Ink pad to ink up the front of the embossing folder.

 Lay the paper onto the inked folder and close the folder.

 Run the paper through the cuttlebug or Big Shot machine.

 Remove the paper from the folder and sprinkle with Embossing Powder.  Lightly rub the raised portions to remove most of the excess powder that is clinging to the embossed image.

 Heat with a Heat tool until all the powder is embossed and shiny.  Trim down to the size you want to use on your card.

 

 Here is the finished project using the Double Embossing Technique. I cut out the oval from white cardstock with the scalloped oval die.  Then I stamped Seasons Greetings oval from the Prickley Pear CLR027B Winter Scalloped Oval 3 Clear Set onto the cut out oval.  Add some pearls and ribbon to complete the card!  Check out more amazing cards from the Design Team!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Birthday Berries

This week I am going back to the Classic Editions Ornamental Raspberries Set.  I used a Cuttlebug folder to add texture to the background.  Then I stamped just the Happy Birthday sentiment onto the card.  I added a band of raspberry color with an accent from the Martha Stewart border punch.  Of course I colored the image with Copic Markers.  Then added some cream pearls and black lines...just a clean and simple card today!  Check out the Heartfelt Creations blog for more inspiration and to see the new design team for the next six months!  Have a wonderful day!!

Partridge in a Pear Tree

I love this Vintage Partridge Tree stamp from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  The image was colored with distress markers and then stamped onto white cardstock.  Then I ripped around the edges and sponged with gathered twigs distress ink.  Then background was sponged with the gathered twigs and stormy ski distress inks over white cardstock.  Then I stamp the Partridge in a Pear Tree saying all over the background with brown dye ink.  Then I embossed with the music note cuttlebug folder.  Sand the embossing to whiten.  Then I mounted the background onto aqua cardstock and adhered the Partridge tree onto the background.  I stamp the partridge again with embossing ink and embossed with brown embossing powder.  Then I cut out the partridge and popped him up in the tree.  The brown strip was cut to 2" x 4" and the ends were angle cut to create the ribbon end.  Adhere this to the card.  Because of the embossed background, I use ScorTape to adhere this piece.  It seems to work the best to keep it tacked down.  Finally I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and cut out with an oval die.  Leave the die over the paper and sponge again with both of the distress ink.  Remove the die and pop up onto the brown strip.  Add the green pearls and allow to dry.  I like the Viva Decor Pearl Pens, but any will work.  Be sure to check out the Prickley Pear blog to see what the Designers worked up for your inspiration this week! 

Sincere Sympathy

Here is a sample of my new stamps for Stamp Shoppe Creations.  This Lighthouse was colored with the Distress Markers directly onto the rubber then stamped onto white cardstock.  I cut out the image with the oval spellbinder die, but left the die over the paper while I sponged the clouds.  I used the stormy sky distress ink to sponge the clouds and around the oval.  Then I removed the die and drew black lines around the oval.  I stamped the sympathy sentiment onto white cardstock and matted it with the red cardstock.  The background was embossed with a cuttlebug frame and then I lightly rubbed white dye ink over the raised edges.  This creates a look of sanding.  This works great when your cardstock doesn't have a white core and you can't sand the paper.  I added two little nautical flags for accents.  Thanks for stopping by!!

I am now also on the Prickley Pear Design Team, so be sure to look us up every Monday for new ideas and inspiration!!  Here is the GG0053 Love Birds stamp.  I embossed the image with clear embossing powder over a brown stamped image.  Then I colored the birds with Copic Markers.  Cut out the image with a square die, leaving the die over the paper, sponge with Victorian Velvet Distress ink.  Remove the die and mat onto the chocolate box paper from core'dinations.  It has pink on the back side, so when you distress around the edges, you will see some of the pink paper.  The background is embossed with the Cuttlebug folder on the same core'dinations paper.  When sanding the embossed area, the pink shows through.  Then add the ribbon and charm to complete the card.  Thanks for looking!

The Chateau Gate collection from Heartfelt Creations is very versatile. There are stamps that work more for the masculine cards and then others that work for more feminine cards. The first card uses the new window die from Heartfelt Creations with the flower swag that works well with the window. This can be a great wedding card, sympathy, or thinking of you. Adding the flowers and the swirl embossing keeps the card more elegant. The second card uses the Stone Doorway. Then added a strip of paper across the center to fancy it up a little! The hollies were stamped and cut out.
