Merry Christmas

Here is a Snowman that I've had in my drawer for a few years and decided to get him out and use him again. This stamp is from Whippersnapper. I first choose the Christmas paper from the My Mind's Eye "Believe" collection. Then I picked out the cardstock to match. I then colored him with Copics to match the paper. I used the drippy goo Martha Stewart punch for the one border and the scallop edge border punch from Fiskars for the other. I used the Scorbuddy and Scorbug to make stitch lines around the card and on the red strip. I then used dies to make the swirl and the poinsettia accents and decorated around the Merry Christmas sentiment. The sentiment was cut out using Spellbinders circle dies. Keep warm!

Sweet Treats!

This card is taking an idea that was shown in our Stamp Club. This is a tri-fold card with a twist. I used a Halloween theme. The papers are from Making Memories. The Scary Fence and Spider web punches are Martha Stewart. Franke is a Whippersnapper stamp. The Sentiment is from Northwoods and Bats are stamps from Amuse. The cut out is a die-namics die from My Favorite Things. The Spider gem is from Memory Box. The fence and papers were distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Below is a look at the inside:

Microfine Glitter - WOW!

I am having fun with the new Microfine Glitter from Elizabeth Craft. Using the Be Creative tape on the background. Once the liner tape is removed, you can use the liner to cut or punch shapes to mask images. On the sample below, I punched out snowflakes and put the masks back on the tape. Because the liner is the mask, they can easily be removed. Then you sprinkle on the Liberty Blue Microfine glitter onto the exposed tape. Rub glitter firmly into the tape and shake off the excess. Now remove the snowflake masks...It works best with a fine pointed tweezers. Then sprinkle with the Cool transparent glitter and again rub glitter firmly and shake off the excess. This technique is called brushed velvet. It is smooth and the glitter won't rub off onto you hands later!!! On the butterfly card, I used a square of the Be Creative tape on white cardstock. Then after I removed the liner sheet, I place a Class A'peel butterfly sticker onto the tape. Use the removed liner to press the sticker onto the tape. Then I used the transparent glitter on the tape and rubbed the glitter firmly into the exposed tape. Now the whole square is covered with glitter. Then you can use your Tombow markers directly onto the glittered surface and spread the color with a water brush. I love this look!

This is just one more sample that I did using the NEW spider web border punch as a mask. Then using the Java and the Grasshopper Microfine glitters to fill in the tape sheet. There will be a class offered at The Stamp Shoppe on September 7th for anyone that would be interested in seeing more with these techniques.

Chalk It Up

Here's the scoop!

Yesterday, I had my cream paper all embossed with the Tim Holtz Notebook embossing folder, distressed with Old paper Distress ink and punched with the EK Success binding edge punch. Then it sat there on the table and I didn't know what to do with it. Today when I saw the Sketch Saturday challenge sketch...I had an idea. I stamped the bear with ice cream from Whippersnapper and colored him with Copics. I then cut him out with the label from Nestabilities. Using the new Victorian Velvet distress ink, I sponged it over the labels die. I used the notebook paper I created yesterday as the matting fot the image. The sentiment was cut out of the fancy labels die and sponged over with the Vintage Photo ink. It all seemed to fall into place this morning. So...if there are pieces laying around that you want to use, but aren't sure what to do with them. Sleep on it and maybe tomorrow you have just the idea that you wanted! Have a good day!!

Happy Haunting

This little bee is dressed up for Halloween. What a cute stamp from Whippersnapper. The image is colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen and blinged with the Spica pens. Background Halloween paper is from Bo Bunny. Extra accents are made with the orange glitter dots and the distresser. Hope your day is Boo-tiful!!

Nestabilities has new Labels!!!

Using the Label six nestabilities, I glued half of the label to the decorative paper before running it through my cuttlebug. This is an older cuttlebug folder with the space for a word. I then used my ScorBug and embossed stitch lines. Then I cut a separate piece for my sentiment and attached with brads. These cuties are from Whippersnapper. I colored them with Copics and added highlights with my white gel pen. Adding some flowers and gems...finished! I have also used this label six die to make tag toppers.

Copic Class II

Saturday morning's class with Kathy Sanders was Copics with Colored Pencils. We colored this teddy bear in that class. Using the colored pencils to give "texture" to the bear and to create the illusion of transparency on the balloons. I finished my card with the oval piece that Kathy demonstrated on, in the afternoon with the Nestabilities and Copic Airbrush, and one of the NEW nestabilities Labels. The funnest birthday saying is from Amuse and seemed to fit with the "light" feeling of the card. Again, there was lots covered in this class. The coloring wasn't exactly how I wanted it to turn out, but remember...Practice makes perfect!

Bee-happy!

This little bee is new from whippersnapper. What a cutie! I colored him with Copic Markers. Using a card I had made before as a sketch, I used it for to inspire this card. Adding a few Prima flowers and a sentiment on a Nestabilities label. I completed the card. Hope you are having a happy day!

It's your day!

Oops! I missed another birthday. My mother-in-law's birthday was friday and I didn't get a card out on time...the story of my life. Anyway, I decided to use these old paper clip dies from sizzix and make my card around it! These dies are old, but new to me. I thought the circle topper was perfect for my birthday sentiment. This "stuffed" bear is from Whippersnapper and with the large white space in the corner, it was perfect for my paper clip. Using a glitter star from Dress It Up, it added an embellishment in the center to add some pizzazz. Coloring with Copics (of course!) and white gel pen to add highlights. Now to get it in the mailbox, so I'm not any later :)

When you're Hot, You're Hot!

This HOT fireman is from Whippersnapper. The image was colored again with Copic markers. The smoke was airbrushed with the Copic airbrushing system and a template. The fire die cut was made from my swirl sizzix die and airbrushed with a lipstick red copic marker. Notice I use some more metal embellishments from Memory Makers for this card, using the red ribbon to hold the washer on. This fireman can be a cute birthday card, an anniversary card for your sweetie or just a note of encouragement, like this sentiment suggest. Thanks for looking!

What a stinker!

This stinker is from Whippersnapper. The "scent-sational" sentiment is from Amuse. I liked the cuttlebug background with the pigment ink rubbed on the raised pattern so well on the boy fishing (you can see this on a previous post), that I did it again on this card too. I like the way that the impressions pop! I used the nestabilities Label 3 die as a tab on the bottom. Then using the Prima flowers, added embellishments that go along with the flowers in the stamped image. Hope this makes your day "scent-sational"!

The Season for BBQ

Father's Day is gone, the 4th of July is past, but there is still more BBQ's to be had :) These are two chef stamps that we have in the store. The first one is from Hambo. I used a sketch from the MoJo Monday site with the picnic tablecloth paper and delicious hamburger to create a card that would be perfect for an invitation or just a greeting card during the summer. The second chef is from Whippersnapper. I colored him with Copics and added some highlights with the white gel pen. I used a circle scallop nestabilities to frame this cutey. Now are you ready to have a BBQ?

Whipper Snapper Cutie!

I made this card as part of a sketch challenge....love the Whipper Snapper girl and the happy birthday by A Muse. Designer Paper is by Memory Box I used faux stitching, primas and a bit of bling to dress up the card....perfect for a girl in your life! ~michelle~

World's Best!

Check out this adorable fellow from Whipper Snapper! He just screams summer to me! He's a hoot to color with Copics! I used Spicas on his spatula for a metallic glint! The cardstock is pre-cut by The Paper Cut...and any alphabet stickers will do ya!

This is a fun window card that opens to reveal a recipe, and then opens again for your message.

Hot Diggety Dog!!

Another fun Whipper Snapper image! This card features Copic Markers, Inkssential White Gel Pen and doodling. It also uses the Making Memories Edge Distressing Tool....a perfect accent for a card like this, it goes with the theme very well. Flowers are by Prima and the designer paper is by Cloud9 Design.

Designer paper is from Cloud9 Design. Glitter flowers are by HeidiGrace and add the perfect amount of bling to the project.

Whipper Snapper Mouse!

This adorable image is by Whipper Snapper Designs. These designs are lots of fun to color with the Copic Markers, they have nice open areas to practice your shading techniques! Remember to use your Cuttlebug Embossing folders....simply embossing a strip of coordinating cardstock adds so much to a card. Heidi added Prima flowers and coordinating gems that mirror the flowers in the designer paper. Check out the tiny scalloped circle frame around the sentiment!

Birthday Surprise!

This is one of the sample cards Heidi and I created for the Sayner Stamp Convention. She colors the image and hands it to me with a piece of designer paper....I get to make the card! She deprives me of sleep....and provides me with caffeine until we both crash!

The image on this one is Whipper Snapper, is colored with Copics and highlighted with Inkssential White Pen.

I added doodling to the image to define it. I used the corner punch in a different way, tucking it under the image for just a little added pop of color. Nestabilities were used for the sentiment, which was popped up on a foam dot. Prima flowers, gems and some metallic ribbon add a festive feel to the card. Designer paper is Cloud9 Design. ~michelle~

You Take The Cake!

The Stamp Shoppe featured Whipper Snapper stamps at the Sayner show as well. These images are adorable and easy to color with Copic Markers and highlighte with the white Inkssentials pen. Nestabilities add lots of interest without taking away from the image. Designer paper is by Cloud9 Designs. ~michelle~
