More Dahlias

Have I mentioned before that I love these new Dahlia stamps from Heartfelt Creations??  Here is another card using the Dahlia Cluster stamp!  This time I colored the Dahlias with the Y21, Y26 and YR18 to create more of a golden color and the E41, E42 for the cream colored ones.  These Dahlias then match the background paper that I selected for this card from the Burst of Splendor paper collection.  I used a leaf spray for an added accent along with some candi and the lacy border die.  More wonderful idea on the HC blog, so be sure to check it out!!

Stampendous/Dreamweaver Collaboration

It's fun in the sun time again with another collaboration between Stampendous and Dreamweaver Stencils!  We'll be playing together all of this week, with a fabulous hop on Friday, August 2nd, featuring a slew of amazing talent from both teams and of course...prizes!!

Here's what I created:

Today, I am using the Encrusted Jewel Bronze set from Stampendous in both cards.  The first card, I stamped the VersaMark pad directly onto the cream card stock.  Then I sprinkled the different powders onto the inked surface.  Heat the background to melt the powders, then stamp the swirls onto the background and sprinkle with Vintage Mahogany Embossing Tinsel and heat again.  The Buck was pasted with the Black Matte Embossing Paste.  Before I removed the stencil, I sprinkle the body with the Embossing Tinsel.  I then removed the stencil and allowed the paste to dry for about 10 - 15 minutes.  Then use the heat tool to emboss the powder.  Mat the Buck onto brown card stock.  Use the X-acto knife to cut a slit above the swirl and tuck the deer into the opening.  For the second card, I stamped the Nautical Rope frame and embossed it with the Vintage Mahogany Embossing Tinsel.  I cut out the opening with an X-acto knife.  Next, I used the Dreamweaver sand castle with the Black Matte Embossing Paste.  This time I removed the stencil, then sprinkled the wet paste with the Golden Sand Embossing Powder.  I allowed the paste to dry for about 10 minutes, then heated it with the Heat tool.  The paste will puff slightly.  Then I adhered the frame over the sand castle and finished the card.

A little Bird...with Daffodils

This card is using the Daffodils and Bird stamp from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  I colored it with Copic Markers.  I cut out the image with and oval die and matted it with the decorative oval.  Add some of the leaves cut out with the Cheery Lynn border die.  Then add more trim with the lacy border die from Cheery Lynn Designs as well.  The embossed background was done with the Wire Fence embossing folder by Darice.  See more inspiration on the PPRS blog!

Blooming Dahlia

I love this large Blooming Dahlia stamp from Heartfelt Creations.  On the first card, I stamped the large dahlia onto decorator paper, then sponged the background with Distress Ink.  I then colored the dahlia with Copic markers to highlight the petals. For the second card, I used the same large dahlia and colored it with the V12, V15, V17 Copic Markers to match the decorator paper.  I cut out the dahlia by hand and popped it onto the card band.  This stamp has so many uses and can create very different looks to your creations.  Check out the HC blog for more inspiration this week!

It's your day to Shine!

Here is the lighthouse from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  I colored it with Copic Markers.  For the background accent, I used the gauze die from Cherry Lynn Designs.  The extra embellishments are flags made from Washi Tape and strung on a line of Divine Twine.  The sentiment is stamped onto a tag that was cut out with a MFT die.  The background paper is from Heartfelt Creations and Paper Loft.  Check out the PPRS blog for more ideas today!

S'more Summertime Cards

We were just up in Door County, Wisconsin for our annual camping trip with five other families.  This is part of our Summertime fun.  There are cherry orchards up on the peninsula and often we come home we have a pail or two of tart cherries to make into pies or jam.  I used the new Dreamweaver cherry stencil for the focus of my card.  I then pasted the image onto white card stock with white matte paste.  After the paste was dry, I placed the stencil back on the cherries and applied a layer of yellow ink.  I then used the screen to create the faux cross stitch look on the cherries and leaves.  It wasn't how I envisioned it, so I removed the screen and stenciled more of the "stitch" color on the cherries.  It was just what I wanted...a subtle hint of cross stitch!  I did add a few highlights with the Signo White Gel pen to give the cherries some dimension.  Then I embossed the Checkerboard background with the cuttlebug and the rubber mat.  Then I used the Gathered Twigs Distress Ink with a large stencil brush and did the Strie technique.  Layer all the pieces and here is my bit of Summertime!  Check out some other fabulous samples from the Design Team...

This Burst of Splendor collection has got to be one of my favorites!  I love that you can color these blossoms different colors for a totally different effect.  The Dahlia's that I colored today were in the soft lavender/mauve colors.  The papers that coordinate with these stamps are beautiful!  Check out the Heartfelt Creations blog for more beautiful projects from the Design Team!
