February Flutters

Are you ready for the new Dreamweaver challenge for the month of February?  It will be a short month of post for the Design Team, but we're pretty excited to share with you our versions of "February Flutters", meaning anything that flutters.  Hearts that flutter, wings that flutter, breezes, sails, etc. So come along for the ride and link your own "flutterings" to the Dream It Up! blog for a chance to win the stencil of your choice.  Meanwhile here is my "fluttering" for this week:

Who doesn't love the flutter of butterflies?  Today I am using the Butterfly stencil that I first dry embossed.  Then I used Purple VersaMark Pigment Ink over the design with the stencil still over the paper.  Then I removed the stencil and pinched UTEE clear powder over some of the inked image.  Once the UTEE is heated, apply a second layer over the image with the stencil back in place.  This second application was done with a Navy Blue Pigment ink.  Apply the entire image with regular clear embossing powder.  For the background I used the new Floral with Dots stencil.  I lightly spritzed the cream card stock with alcohol then I embossed it through the Cuttlebug machine with the Rubber Embossing Mat.  Finally, I used the vertical Friend stencils which I just colored with the matching pigment ink and created a banner!
Be sure to leave me some encouragement before flitting over to see the rest of the "A" teams blogs:

Love how you used lots of dry embossing on this creation, Heidi! I am also going to link it into my post on how to add a sentiment onto an embossed background...really beautiful flutter butterfly too!

This is wonderful, Heidi! I was wondering why the switch in ink colors between layers of UTEE until I opened the pic of larger. Love the mottled effect! The embossed Floral with Dots was the perfect background.
