PPRS Blog Hop Day #2

I hope you enjoyed seeing all of our creations yesterday as much as we enjoyed creating them!  We have another fun day of inspiration and prizes planned for you again today.  Remember to continue to add comments everyday for your chance to win prizes.  There will be one winner selected each day of the hop...so that means there will be three lucky winner once the hop is completed.  The drawing will be on April 20th and on April 21st, the winners will be posted on the PPRS blog!

If you have arrived from Barb's blog, you are on the right track!

Here is my sweet little swimmer that I used for day's card.  This card uses the GG0194 Little Yellow Polka Dot Bikini stamp from the new release.  Isn't she just adorable!  I colored her with Copic Markers to match the Basic Grey paper I used for the background.  Then I added the sentiment from the CLR047 Mini Vases stamp set.  Next, I cut out some mini Hibiscus flowers from Decorator paper and stamped them with the matching CLR002A Hibiscus 2 Clear Set.  Finally I added the Candis to the center of the flowers.

Your next stop will be Maureen's blog!

Happy Birthday, Lynell!

Help me celebrate today, Lynell Harlow's birthday, owner of Dreamweaver Stencils.  Actually, her birthday is on Saturday, but we are surprising her by posting birthday cards in honor of her special day...So Happy Birhday, Lynell!!

In addition to our birthday party, we are celebrating the New Year with a new monthly challenge.  In honor of all those New Year's Resolutions that we are hoping to achieve, our challenge is "Losing the Weight...aka Clean and Simple Cards (CAS)".  If we all try really hard to simplify our cards without losing the creativity, we can all say at the end of the month that we've lost weight.  Maybe not off our waistlines, but of from our cards.

Be sure to see all the creative CAS cards from our Design Team:

Please be sure to help us wish Lynell a very Happy Birthday...and join in the fun this month with this New Year's challenge.  We all would love to see what you create with stencils in a Clean and Simple style!

Peace on Earth

Today, I am using the Peace on Earth sentiment as my focus.  Then I added some Poinsettias and Holly Leaves to add some accents.  On the sentiment piece I cut the piece down to a square, then I cut the corners off at a 45 degree angle to make an octagon.  Finally, I used removable tape around all the sides and sponged the center with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  I removed the tape and now have a crisp cream edge around the sentiment.  For more detailed instructions, check out the HC blog!  Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Be of Good Courage

It's hard to believe that it is Easter weekend and still so much snow on the ground here in Wisconsin!  Today I am using the Spring Cross Clear Stamp Set from Prickley Pear.  The cross is stamped with Cocoa Memento Ink Pad, then cut out with the matching Cross Die.  I mounted the cross onto an oval, then used the Cheery Lynn label dies to frame the oval.  The background die is also a Cheery Lynn die that is mounted onto some Decorator paper from My Mind's Eye.  The lacey frame was created with a Martha Stewart punch around the page.  I used some Gathered Twigs Distress ink to distress the oval and the sentiment.  Be sure to see what inspiration awaits at the PPRS blog today.  Hope you have a Happy Easter!

Calendar Easel Card

With 2013 just around the corner, I decided to make a calendar easel card.  This way, it is a card as well as an altered project!!  I used the Prickley Pear Dragonflies 2 Set CLR0011A with the matching butterfly die.  Then I stamped some of the Clearly Beautiful Flowers with the matching flower die.  The images were all colored with the Copic Markers RV91, RV93, RV95.  Then I layered the flowers and formed the butterfly wings to add dimension.  The vine die is from Cheery Lynn Designs.  The lacey border was created with the Martha Stewart border punch.  Add some accents like faux stitches with the ScorBuddy and ScorBug and some pearls and the project is complete!  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to see more inspiration on the PPRS blog!!

Happy Brrrthday!

Today I used a little Magnolia girl sitting with flakes. I colored her with Copic Markers, cut her out and popped her up on a bench from Whiff of Joy. The images were layered on some of the new Bo Bunny winter paper. Snowflakes were punched with a Martha Stewart punch. I added the sentiment from Amuse on a oval scallop piece of paper. Then I added pearls to the snowflakes and sentiment using the Viva pearl pen. This works well for those cold January birthdays!!

Merry Christmas

Here is a Snowman that I've had in my drawer for a few years and decided to get him out and use him again. This stamp is from Whippersnapper. I first choose the Christmas paper from the My Mind's Eye "Believe" collection. Then I picked out the cardstock to match. I then colored him with Copics to match the paper. I used the drippy goo Martha Stewart punch for the one border and the scallop edge border punch from Fiskars for the other. I used the Scorbuddy and Scorbug to make stitch lines around the card and on the red strip. I then used dies to make the swirl and the poinsettia accents and decorated around the Merry Christmas sentiment. The sentiment was cut out using Spellbinders circle dies. Keep warm!

Peeking out to say...

...Happy Day! Here I used the Tina Wenke stamp from Stampavie. I colored it with Copic Markers. Then I layered it onto a punched doily. The doily was punched with a new Martha Stewart around the corner punch. It is hard to see from the picture, but I used the ScorBuddy to add some score lines in the doily. Then I used the ScorBug to add the "stitches" around the decorator paper. I used My Mind's Eye paper and Creative Imaginations ribbon.

Holidays are a Real Tweet!

Here I used the Robins from Stampavie. I colored them with Copic Markers. I was trying to decide what colors to use on the birds, but decided to do non-traditional colors. With the Memory Box bird paper as the background, I wanted to color them to match the paper. I then embossed the bird paper, sanded it, and then sponged some Vintage Photo Distress Ink over it. Using two Martha Stewert punches, I layered them and distressed the Holiday lace layer with Vintage Photo Distress Ink as well. Finally, I popped the birds up on a lacey die cut out to frame the birds. Keep warm and cozy!!

A little birdie told me...

Christmas is coming! It is hard to believe that it is already September and Christmas will be here before we know it. With the cool and windy weather we had today, I actually had some christmas inspiration and got a few Christmas cards done.I stamped this Sugar Nellie stamp and colored her with Copic markers. I used a new nestabilities label die for the blue matting. This is a square and I wanted to use it for a rectangle shape, so I used it as a mat on the top of my image and then used an emboss strip of paper to cover the bottom. I used the poinsettia folder to emboss the green strip of paper. The red dot flurry paper is from Cloud 9. Then I punched out a Martha Stewart snowflake and used a white glitter dot in the center of the snowflake to add a little glitz. Keep warm!

Something Scary...& NEW!

Check out these NEW Halloween Punches that just arrived at The Stamp Shoppe!! The spider web was punched out with the border punch. Then I used the ScorBug and a black, fine line pen to add the stitched string for the spider to hang from. The Spider is a new gem from Memory Box. The I used the Happy Halloween sentiment from the SRM Halloween sticker sheets.
On this card I stenciled cloud with black ink on gray paper. Then I punched out the moon from orange paper and sponged the edges with black ink. I used the Flying Witch from Great Impressions and stamped her on white cardstock, colored her with Copic Markers and cut her out. The I used the Iron Fence border punch and punched it out of black paper. I punched the grass out of green cardstock. Then sentiment was from SRM stickers.
