Distress Background Paper

Today I am using another one of my Distressed Background papers that I mad with Time Holtz Stencils.  Then I used a piece of pink card stock that I embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I then cut out two lack borders with dies from Cheery Lynn.  The butterflies are cut out with the Prickley Pear butterfly die and the matching Butterflies clear Stamp Set.  I then used the Seedless Preserves and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink to color the butterflies.  Finally I added some Gems from Couture Creations.

This weekend we are heading up to Sayner, WI for the annual Stampede Convention.  One of the Saturday Make and Takes we will be making these distress background paper.  If you have the chance to come up for the show, stop on by and have some fun getting inky!

Happy Spring

Hope you all enjoyed the hop last week.  A big congratulations goes out to the three blog hop winners!

Today we are looking for Spring and beautiful sunny days.  I used the Girl with Basket stamp from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  I colored her with Copic Markers.  Then I used vintage paper from the Paper Loft as my background.  Then I finished it off with the Picket fence and the Leaf flourish dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.  The Scatter Kindness Sentiment was taken from the Hibiscus 2 Clear set.

If you were inspired during our hop last week, we hope that you continue to follow us every Monday on the PPRS blog for lots more inspiration.

PPRS Blog Hop Day #3

Welcome to the third day of our hop!  We have enjoyed sharing our ideas from this wonderful collection.  We would love to hear what you think.  Remember, each time you leave on comment, your name is in the drawing to win one of three prizes.  So the more you comment, the better your chances to win!  Now with out further adieu...

I am using the GG0197 Rooster for today's card.  This was fun to color!  I did a google search to find out how to color a rooster and was amazed at the multiple colors they are.  Then I used two dies from Cheery Lynn Designs to add some extra barnyard touches to the card.  This chicken wire background die makes a great accent when cut apart.  Then I added some black hinges from the hinge die set.   Finally I added the Many Thanks sentiment to complete the card.

If you are following the hop, you should have come from the PPRS blog and your next stop will be Angie's blog!

Thanks for playing with us this week!  Thanks for all your wonderful comments!

Here is my sweet little swimmer that I used for day's card.  This card uses the GG0194 Little Yellow Polka Dot Bikini stamp from the new release.  Isn't she just adorable!  I colored her with Copic Markers to match the Basic Grey paper I used for the background.  Then I added the sentiment from the CLR047 Mini Vases stamp set.  Next, I cut out some mini Hibiscus flowers from Decorator paper and stamped them with the matching CLR002A Hibiscus 2 Clear Set.  Finally I added the Candis to the center of the flowers.

Today I am using the new FF0174 Starburst Daisies and the EE0193 Starburst Daisies, small together to make this garden scene.  The flowers are colored with Distress Markers and stamped onto white card stock.  Then I used my removable scotch tape technique around the edges of the paper and sponged with the Gathered Twigs Distress ink.  Then I removed the tape and matted the paper into a green piece.  Then I used the CLR026 Mini Birds Clear set along with the matching D026 Mini Bird die.

Stencil Backgrounds

A few Saturdays ago, we had a demo at The Stamp Shoppe that was using the new stencils by Tim Holtz and Memory Box.  We used the Distress Paints, Distress Stains, Tattered Angels Glimmer Sprays, and Distress Ink Pads to create these fun, bright backgrounds.  Last Monday, I made several cards using these pre-made backgrounds.  On this card, I used the Prickley Pear Black Eye Susans and the Mini Butterflies Clear Stamp Set.  The flowers I colored with Copic Markers, but the butterfly I used the Distress Ink to add color.  Then I used the ScorBuddy and made score lines onto the corners of the decorative background paper.  Once the score lines were made, I used the fine line sandpaper to whiten the lines.  The flowers are popped up in front of the die cut doily from Cheery Lynn Designs and Gems from Couture Creations were added to the sentiment.

And one more announcement...

Be sure to join us next week to see the new Spring release from Prickley Pear.  The Design Team members will be doing a hop to show you some beautiful cards using these wonderful new stamps.  For now, check out the PPRS blog for inspiration today!

April Inspirations

We're already into April, and no foolin', the Dream Team has a spectacular month planned for you.  The month is filled with news and inspiration for all your crafting dreams.  The exciting news will be announced in the Dream It Up! blog on April 17th, but the "April Inspirations" challenge will continue through the entire month.  Each team member will post what inspires them in their creative life...maybe a Pinterest pic, a magazine, a quote, a book, a place, an artist, a crafter friend...along with their inspiration.  We are hoping that you will feel inspired as well, and link your projects (and inspiration) to the inlinz tool on the Dream It Up! blog.

Here is my inspiration:

http://craftingtheweb.blogspot.com/2011/05/sympathetic-dragonflies.html

Here is what I made:
First I cut out a rectangle from a piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" text weight paper.  Then I placed it over the white card stock.  I used the Copic Airbrush to create my colored block using YR04, YR18, E25.  Then I removed the mask and pasted the sentiment over the card with Black Matte Paste.  Then on a separate piece of card stock, I used black paste over the Cattails.  Once the paste was dry, I then used the Cocoa and Ivy Garden F/X powders on the cattails.  Finally, I cut out the cattails and popped them up over the card and stamped the flying birds from Northwoods Rubber Stamps.

Spring Song

What a beautiful day!  It was in the fifties and the snow is melting!  Here is a bit of Spring to brighten you day.  I used the Black Capped  Chickadees which I colored as bluebirds.  Then I layered it onto two of the Decorative French Flair dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I finished off the card with the Many Thanks sentiment banner.  Check out more Springy inspirations and the announcement of our new Design Team on the PPRS blog.
