A little birdie told me...

Christmas is coming! It is hard to believe that it is already September and Christmas will be here before we know it. With the cool and windy weather we had today, I actually had some christmas inspiration and got a few Christmas cards done.I stamped this Sugar Nellie stamp and colored her with Copic markers. I used a new nestabilities label die for the blue matting. This is a square and I wanted to use it for a rectangle shape, so I used it as a mat on the top of my image and then used an emboss strip of paper to cover the bottom. I used the poinsettia folder to emboss the green strip of paper. The red dot flurry paper is from Cloud 9. Then I punched out a Martha Stewart snowflake and used a white glitter dot in the center of the snowflake to add a little glitz. Keep warm!

The Lil' Mermaid

Wow! I am finally back and doing a challenge again! When I saw this Midnight Madness Sketch, I knew exactly what stamp I wanted to use. This mermaid image is a new, hot off the press, stamp from Stamp Shoppe Creations. She is colored with Copic Markers and accented with the Spica pens to add a little "glitz". I then used two Sizzix swirls and glued them together to make a splash. Then adding a few of the Rain dots from Cloud 9 for more drops of water. Thanks for looking!

You're One in a Melon

I am doing two challenges today!! First I used the sketch #88 from Friday Sketchers and then used the Spots and Dots theme from the Cute Card Thursday Challenge. Did I ever use dots!! Starting with the background paper from Cloud 9 there were dots galore. Then the dot ribbon from Bo Bunny and also the pink cardstock with the swiss dot cuttlebug folder. I cut out the circle with the Nestabilities. Then I airbrushed the background sky and grass. After the girl was stamped, I colored her with Copics and cut her out. I popped her on the circle.

Midnight Madness Challenge #39

Here's doing a Tuesday challenge on Wednesday... the Midnight Madness Challenge! I used the Heart scallop Nestabilities for the heart shape in the middle and layering it with the Sizzix heart die. I added some white dots with my gel pen to make the heart more elegant. I stamped the Love turtle from Stamp Shoppe Creations and colored him with Copics to match the Background paper from Cloud 9. Then I popped the turtle with the shell matching up with the curve of the heart. I then added some flowers, heart pins, corners, ribbons and pearls for all the extra embellishments. Here's to a little lovin'!

Mojo Monday #125

I am finally back!! I have been so busy that I have missed out on these fun challenges. I hope I am pretty well caught up on store business and can have a little fun again. Valentine's day will be here soon, so I wanted to do a little LOVE card. I used Bo Bunny paper for the background paper and matching colors for the matting. I cut out the chipmunk in the Hot air balloon and popped him out. Then I used some dew drop hearts from Cloud 9 on the side. I added some distress touches to match with the distress look of the paper. Love is in the air!!

Sneak Peak #4

Here's a sample of the kids from the new Stamp Shoppe Creations line!! I colored this image with the Copic Markers. With hair, you can use a feathering technique that makes the hair look more streaky. I added some Prima flowers and a glitter bug from Dress It Up to use a few embellishments. The stamps will be here later than we expected. There have been a few learning experiences for us with making stamps, but we will be sure to let you know when they arrive! It will be SOON though!

Happy 40th Party

Here is the party invitations I sent out for my husband's 40th birthday party. We celebrated with a friend of ours that was also turning 40. It was a success and Craig was very surprised! We did a Murder Mystery Dinner. I sent out the invitations ahead of time with the character information in them. This card has a pocket on the inside for the papers that I sent ahead of time. This cutie was colored with Copics and distressed with a paper scraper and Distress inks. The clip on the corner was saved from some of Craig's dress shirts. I thought that they were worth saving...I was sure I could use them on some card! We had a great time at the party. Now I have lots of pictures to scrapbook :)

Cutie from High Hopes

These kids are sure cute from High Hopes. After coloring the girl, I colored the ground around her feet with gray, to give here something to stamd on. I used some Spica markers in the water that is in the bucket. I used the swirl die from Sizzix again. They are versatile! Make a border with the Fiskars scallop border punch and add some glitter dots. Hope this made you smile :)

Paint my World Beautiful

Here's another sample of airbrushing. This time I used a Sarah Kay image from Stampavie. I masked the girl and easel, then cut out the canvas. Then I airbrushed multiple colors on the background and canvas. Then I colored the girl with Copic markers. The Prima flower was plain white and I airbrushed it with colors to match my card. Adding a few swirls from a sizzix die and a few more flowers, my card is finished. If you like these airbrushed cards, check out classes that are coming up in the fall.

Don't monkey around

Here is another Rachelle Anne Miller stamp from Stamp Avie. Her animals are sooo cute! After I colored these with the Copics, I used the star theme from the balloon and cut out some stars with the nestabilities. Some of the embellishments were the Glitter Dots from Dress it up and the Dew Drops from Robin's Nest. I folded up the Two-sided card stock and used some faux stitches to create a look of sewing it in place. There are many cute animals from Rachelle Anne, come in and check them out!

More Copics

This card along with the Girl with the Watermelon will be taught in the More Copics class. We are focusing on Skin tones and Hair coloring. This is a High Hopes stamp. These stamps work well with the Copic Markers because of the big open spaces. Using the Cuttlebug on the brown paper gives an added dimension and then use a white pigment ink to rub over the raised swirls to make it stand out! Check out our class calender on our web page...thestampshoppe.com.

High Hopes in Orange!

Isn't this little lady from High Hopes the *sweetest?!* I just had a hoot coloring her with Copic Markers. This is also my first attempt with my Copic Airbrush! I am *SO* in love....and I'm sure I will love it even more as I learn more about it. I love the look you get with the Nestabilities dies...that white edge is so crisp and fun. The paper is from Cloud9 Design, flowers by Prima, die by Sizzix.

TIP: When using the Copic Airbrush you can layer colors, in this case I had brown dirt, green grass, blue sky and yellow sun.

Oh, and I apologize if anyone hates the orange dress as much as Heidi does.....it's not a color I normally grab....I usually would grab blue....but it seemed so fun at the time! Leave me a comment and tell me it's not *that bad*.....please!! LOL! ~michelle~

So Thoughtful!

This cute little fellow is by High Hopes. He's gussied up with Copics and White Gel Pen which Heidi does so well! Nestabilites provide the perfect backdrop, accented with the black doodling. Designer paper is such a fun way to add *pop* to a card. These stripes are by Cloud9 Design and they have such a variety of color combinations that they are perfect for any project! Ric Rac is a fun alternative to ribbon...check out all of the colors available at The Stamp Shoppe!

Tip: Foam Pop Tape can add the perfect bit of dimension to your images, *popping* them off of the papers.
