I Scream for Ice Cream!

Now onto day Four!!

 Today I am showcasing this Ice Cream Clear Set from Prickley Pear.  This is so versatile and so fun to use!!

Here I made an ice cream sundae/float boat.  Add some strawberry, vanilla, mint and chocolate with some whipped cream and a cherry on top!  Life IS happier with ice cream!

If you prefer a cone, just add as many scoops as you want with as many flavors as you want...YUM!  This reminds us of Briq's...the place to be in the summer here in Weston, Wisconsin.  This is the place of the 1# cone!

Then with summer winding down, Fall is just around the corner.  Make these scoops into a carmel apple (also a Briq specialty).  Add some Crystal Lacquor on top and it looks so gooey, tasty and Carmelly good!!  I love, love, love these new clear stamps from PPRS.  Be sure to check out their blog and the blogs of the design team...Lots of great cards!  Prickley Stamp Sets will be in The Stamp Shoppe soon!

Happy Camping

Here is another card that I made during my "stamping marathon".  I used the Camping tent from Prickley Pear, as my focal point of this card.  I used the pieces of the Zig, Zag Washi tape from We R Memories to add some extra embellishments.  The Hiking Boot Prints is an embossing folder from Darice.  Then I had the Flourish cut out with a Cheery Lynn Die.  The sentiment is from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps, as well as the small Winters Lovebirds.  I love this petite stamps to add little somethings to the card...that still needs a little something:)  See more great cards on the PPRS blog!  And remember...next week Monday starts the PPRS blog hop featuring the brand new Fall/Winter holiday stamps...so check us out!

PPRS Blog Hop Day #1

Today I am using the new FF0174 Starburst Daisies and the EE0193 Starburst Daisies, small together to make this garden scene.  The flowers are colored with Distress Markers and stamped onto white card stock.  Then I used my removable scotch tape technique around the edges of the paper and sponged with the Gathered Twigs Distress ink.  Then I removed the tape and matted the paper into a green piece.  Then I used the CLR026 Mini Birds Clear set along with the matching D026 Mini Bird die.

PPRS Mini Tags Day #2

 Now that you have your PPRS Minis all made ahead, you can grab some elements and put the card together.  I like to have several of the flowers cut out and stamped  ahead of time too.  That way when I am ready to assemble a card, I just have to color them the way I want to and add them. 

I stamped my PPRS mini with the Spring Scalloped Circle set and the Small Cameo.  I like to stamp the solid stamps with VersaFine, because it gives it a more solid image.  I cut out the mini with the Scalloped circle die and the Scalloped Circle Nesting dies.  Then I have an embossed background paper, a cut out Border, leaves, candi and pearls to finish the card.  So go ahead and make some Minis.  Then you can have them on hand to make some quick and simple cards when you need them!

Frosty the Snowman

I love this little Frosty!  Isn't he just adorable.  Today I used him on two different cards.  The first was using more the pastel colors and the second uses more primary colors.  For accents on the card above, I also used the Snowflake corner folder from Darice and the Snowflake die behind the sentiment from PPRS.

All the Dies used on this card were from Cheery Lynn Designs.  Then I used the Vintage Candi on the card for a little more pizzazz.  The frame around the snowman was made using removable Scotch Tape and Distress Ink.  This is fun to do to add some dimension to the paper.  Check out more Winter creations on the PPRS blog!

Winter Sled

I used the Winter Sled on this card as the center piece, then added a little red doily accent from Cheery Lynn to brighten up all the brown tones and to make the ribbon pop.  Then I added some Candi and a sentiment  to complete the card.

 Here, I am using the Winter Sled that I stamped on a piece of white card stock, then colored with Copic Markers.  Then I used the removable masking tape technique to sponge a frame around the sled.  The red strip is embossed with a Darice Embossing folder and accented with lace strips that were cut out with Cheery Lynn dies.  I added my sentiment to a piece of cream card stock, then popped it up and added some bronze pearls from Viva Decor.  It still needed something else...so I add a little mistletoe to the sentiment for a little added Holiday Love!  Finally, I add some glitter glue to the berries to make them pop!  See some more Winter ideas from the PPRS blog.  Have a Warm and Happy New Year!

Pixie Wishes

This sweet Pixie, roasting marshmallows is a cute addition to your Christmas card.  I colored her with Copic Markers, then cut out around the frame.  I then used the floral border die and the pine branch die for added accents.  The Happy Holidays was a sentiment from the Flourished Oval 3 - holiday set.  The embossed border is a Darice folder and Candi finishes the card.  Check out more beautiful creations on the PPRS blog.

The Joy you give

For the Prickley Pear Monday Inspiration, I am once again using the Black Eye Susan stamps.  I love this flower stamp and find it as my go to stamp for many occasions.  It can be colored in many different colors to match the paper in the background.  I used the Darice embossing folder on the blue card, then lightly rubbed the White dye ink over the embossing to give it a sanded look.  I wanted to emphasize the word Joy, so I stamped the sentiment again and matted the word to pop up over the original.  Add some pearls, leaves and border dies for more interest.  Be sure to check out the PPRS blog for more inspiration today.

A little Bird...with Daffodils

This card is using the Daffodils and Bird stamp from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  I colored it with Copic Markers.  I cut out the image with and oval die and matted it with the decorative oval.  Add some of the leaves cut out with the Cheery Lynn border die.  Then add more trim with the lacy border die from Cheery Lynn Designs as well.  The embossed background was done with the Wire Fence embossing folder by Darice.  See more inspiration on the PPRS blog!

Prickley Pear New Release

Today we are featuring some of the new stamps from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps!  This card uses the new CLR023A Mini Butterfly clear set with the Matching PPRS D023Mini Butterfly dies.  I used an embossing folder from Darice for my background.  Then I cut out several of the mini butterflies.  I stamped the various butterflies on the cut out pieces colored them with Copic Markers.  I tried to do a rainbow of color to add a bright, springy feel to the car.  I used the sentiment from the set.  Be sure to check out other samples using stamps from the new release.  Leave comments on blogs along the way to have a chace at winning FREE stamps from this release on April 20th!

Coloring with Distress Inks

 Here is a tutorial using Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Clear Stamp Sets and the matching Dies, then coloring with the Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

 First you cut out the butterfly with the die, then ink up the stamp with a black ink (I am using the Marvy Matchables Ink Pad), then stamp over the cut out piece.

 Then you add ink to the butterfly with the lightest Distress Ink pad. I am using the Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for this butterfly and I find that this ink applicator works the best.  It makes a smooth application of color.  I only ink up the outside edges of the cut out.

Next, I apply the Faded Jeans to the center of the butterfly.  I move the ink until it meets the lighter shade of blue.  Then I add a darker shade of blue again, but only to the very center of the butterfly.  The darker shade that I used on this sample was the Chipped Sapphire.

Now to create a matching background.  I used the same Distress Inks that I used on the butterfly.  I sponge on the various colors until all the white space is covered.  Try to apply until the the background has a very solid and dark application of ink.

 Next, you can apply plain water to the solid butterfly and then I rub the water over the stamp.  Then stamp the watered image onto the sponged background.  Either you can allow this to dry or use the heat tool to hurry the process.  I prefer to heat it and watch the image bleach it's way through the ink!

I made the background into a tag, stamped a sentiment and adhered the butterfly to this piece.  Emboss a background for the card with an Embossing folder.  Don't forget the pearls!!  They add a lot!  I use the Viva Decor Pearl Pen.  You can make the pearls any size you want, but you need to allow them time to dry.

Now see what you can come up with!!  This sample was made using the Dragonfly 2 Clear Set.

Black Eyed Susans

I love these Black Eyed Susans.  They can be colored with different colors to create a totally different looking flower.  On this card I used some scraps that were in my friend's stash.  She had some strips of this and circles cut out of that.  I happened to lay the piece down with the strip next to my colored flowers and then the circle over all...and I liked it, so that is what I did.  After it was all together, I decided that it could use some embossing, so I ran the whole front piece through my Cuttlebug maching.  This embossing folder was a frame from Darice.  Then I used the label die cut from Cheery Lynn to embellish the the sentiment, added some Candi and pearls...and my card was complete. If you love these flowers like I do, we have them at the store or you can buy them directly from Prickley Pear.  Check out other ideas on the PPRS blog!!

Sittin' Here Tilda

We just received an order of Magnolia Stamps and Decorator paper.  The Decorator paper comes in 6 x 6 or 12 x 12 sizes.  The decorator paper used in the sample is "Sweet Crazy Love".  The stamp is called Pie Hilda colored with the new RV52 Cotton Candy Copic Marker.  The embossed tree is from Darice and is in stock now.  The lacy border is by Spellbinders and the sentiment is by Stamp Shoppe Creations.  Come in and see our selection!
