Crazy Bird Demo

Thank you to all that came to the Demo on Saturday.  We sure had fun playing with the Crazy Bird stamps along with Distress Paint & Inks, Tim Holtz Stencils and Adirondank Alcohol Inks.  Using these products, we created cool backgrounds.  Here is what we created...
This bird was stamped on a marble background that we created with Distress Paint and Inks.  Then he was colored with the Adirondack alcohol inks and the Blending pen.
This bird was also stamped on one side of the marbled background paper that was created with the Distress Paints.  Then I cropped him down and matted him.  The other part of the marbled paper was used behind the Hexagon die cut from Poppy stamps.  The saying is from Memory Box.
This cutie bird is stamped onto white card stock and color with the Adirondack Alcohol inks directly onto the paper.  This creates a "watercolor" look.  The background was created with Distress Paints, Distress Inks and Distress Stains with some added interest of stencils.  The cut out was a die set from Memory Box and sentiment die was from Cheery Lynn.  Look for classes on the Crazy Birds starting in September!

Hummingbird Moments

Here was a card I made using odds and ends and paper scraps that I had in my "Extras" drawer.  It's fun to stamp that way sometimes.  You don't have a plan, but you put things together to see what you can come up with.  Stamping the the Heart Grass onto decorator paper adds a different twist.  Then I cut another decorator paper to fit in the scored border I made with the ScorBuddy.  I have lots of little bird cut with the Mini Birds die and then when I need a small bird, I pick one that I want to use, then stamp it with the image I like from the Mini Birds stamp set.  The fancy tag is made using a Cheery Lynn die and I stamped the sentiment from the Four Seasons stamp set.  Finally I added some sequins to the card to finish it.  Check out more beautiful cards on the PPRS Blog!

Spring is here and with Spring is the promise of new life and hope.  Today, I am using the Sleepy Time Baby stamp from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  I cut out the image with an oval die and sponged the opening with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink.  Then I popped it over a doily that I cut out with the Cheery Lynn die.  I inked up the "Baby" part of the the Makes love stronger sentiment...also a stamp from Prickley Pear.  Then I cut out two of the flowers from the PPRS Poinsettia Leaves die along with corners to add embellishments to the card.  I then added two sequins and a Candi to the flower center to finish it off.  More great cards on the PPRS blog, so be sure to check them out!  Happy Spring!

Luck O' the Irish

St. Patty's Day is just around the corner and I decided to make a card to celebrate the Irish Holiday!  I am using the Lucky Horseshoe stamp from Prickley Pear.  I colored it with Copic Markers and drew black lines and dots around the paper for an extra layer.  Then I used some Shamrock paper to bring out more of the festive, Irish feel.  Finally, I stamped the Luck O' the Irish sentiment onto white card stock, then cut it out with a banner die.  I used the  Shabby Shutters Distress ink to add color to the banner.  Follow us on the PPRS Blog to get new ideas every Monday!  Feels like Spring is on it's way so...Enjoy!

Today I am using the Fishing on a Pier Silhouette stamp from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  I stamped it with VersaFina Onyx Black ink.  I like to use the VersaFine ink for solid image stamps for a more bold image.  Then I used the removable scotch tape around the edges and then sponged using the Stormy Sky Distress Ink.  Once I finished sponging the image, I removed the tape.  Then Color the water with Copic Markers.  The Jumping Bass was stamped onto another piece of white card stock and colored with Copics.  Then I cut out the fish and popped it up at the end of the line.  I found a piece of wood print paper and stamped the Come Early sentiment on it.  Finally I added the hinge to the barn board that I cut with the Cheery Lynn Die.  Find more inspiration on the PPRS blog too!

Think Spring

I am using an oldie but goodie today!  This Girl with Basket is a Prickly Pear Rubber Stamp. I colored with very light shades of Copic Markers.  Then I used the removable tape around the four sides and sponged it with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  The lattice and border dies are from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I added the Prima flowers for an extra accent tied with a ribbon.  I zapped the ribbon with a heat gun to wrinkle it up a bit.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Hibiscus  2 Clear Stamp set onto a white tab.  Hope this helps to think springy thoughts! Check out today's PPRS blog for more ideas!

Bird Bath

Here's another card using stamps from the new Spring Release from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  I am using the Pond of Ducklings stamp that I colored with Copic Markers.  I used some fun bright paper from Bo Bunny as a background.  Then I stamped the Happy Spring sentiment onto a banner and added some Candi for a simple embellishment.  We hope you enjoyed the hop...I know that I sure did!  Check out today's cards too.  Enjoy!

Blog Hop Day 3

Welcome to the third and final day of our blog hop.  If you are following our blog hop, you should have come from Rita's blog. Yesterday, you saw what Little Boys are made of and today you can see what Little Girls are made of!  Edith (HH0174) is colored with Copic Markers.  After I cut the paper down to the size I wanted, I used removable tape around the four sides.  Then I used Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to sponge around the image.  I found these decorater papers in my scrap bin and thought they were the perfect choice for this image.  The lacy border was cut out with a die from Cheery Lynn Designs.  The corner is also a Cheery Lynn die cut out of silver pearlescent paper.  Then I used the flower die from PPRS and the matching flower clear set.  The center of the flowers were made with a cream pearl pen.  Finally I used some cream dotted Candi to finish the card.

Now to continue on the hop, go to Michelle's blog! Contine to leave some comments...we've enjoyed hearing from you.  If  haven't seen the blog hop prizes, here it is:

Blog Hop Day 1...Spring Release!

Spring is coming and we want to show you what's new from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  Today is the first day of the blog hop.

If you came from PPRS blog, you are right on track.  From here, you will head on over to

I am using the HH0176 Singing bluebirds with the DD0228 Little Bird Script.  For the accent behind the image, I used the new D052 Flourished Circle die.  I just cut it in half and glued it to the ends of the oval.  Then I used a piece of cream cardstock to fill in the gap.  Just another way to use this die.  Around the decorator paper, I used the ScorBuddy to score lines 1/4" around the four sides of the paper.  Then I sanded the lines to make them pop.  Finally I added pearls with the Viva Decor Pearl Pen.

Leave a comment on each blog along the way for a chance to win some of the new Spring Release!  The more you comment, the greater your chance to win!  Here is a peak at what you can win:

Happy Valentine's Day!

This Vintage car is perfect for Valentine's Day.  I colored the image with Copic Markers.  I stamped this again and cut out the heart to add a bit of dimension.  This Mini Gear die add a great accent to make this a more masculine card along with the gauze die from Cheery Lynn.  The gauze was sponged with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink to make it more Shabby Chic.  Then I finished the card with the banner and stamped it with True Love.  More Valentine idea...Check out the PPRS blog!

The Language of Love

Today I am using the Love stamp from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  Valentine's day is fast approaching so it's time to turn our thoughts to love.  This stamp can be used for Wedding and Anniversary cards as well.  I colored the letters with Copic Markers.  Using the lighter color on the bottom and the darker color on top gives it a varigated look.  I then used the Heart Grass and stamped on the decorative paper.  The Distress Markers were used to color directly onto the stamp, then stamped onto the paper.  The first line of the sentiment was stamped onto cream paper and made into a tab to tuck under the large word stamp.  The I cut out the butterflies and stamped with the matching mini butterflies stamp. There are lovely samples on the PPRS blog once again this week too!

Cowboy Love

Here is a couple of cards using the Bobby Bronco stamp from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  I like the versatility of this image.  Just change the colors and add some different embellishment and you can use it for a little boy or a little girl.  On both of the cards, I used the barbed wire die from Cheery Lynn on both of the cards to add the Western feel.  With the rope in a heart shape, it works good for Valentine's day too!  Check out more card creations on the PPRS blog!

Babies make...

New Year's makes me think of new beginnings.  Today I am using the Welcome Stork from Prickley Pear Rubber stamps.  I colored the image with Copic Markers.  Then I cut it into a rectangular shape allowing the baby bundle to be cut out to add an extra dimension.  Then I used the removeable masking tape around the edges and sponged it with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.  The Baby sentiment was stamped onto decorator paper and made into a banner.  I cut out the flourish with the die from Pricley Pear.  Then I faux stitched the banner using the ScorBuddy and ScorBug.  Finally I added some Cando to finish the card.  The PPRS blog has lots of neat cards, so check them out!

Happy 2015!

It's hard to believe another year has gone by...how time flies.  Today I am using more of a winter stamp.  This cardinal flourish stamp is from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp.  I used a cuttlebug embossing folder to make the embossed frame on decorator paper.  Then I sanded the design to make it pop.  Then I used the Poinsettia Leaf die and Leaf set die to make the embellishing folliage.  Finally I stamped the sentiment onto a white strip and popped it onto the card.  There are more gorgeous cards on the PPRS blog, so check them out!
