A little of this...A little of that!

Today I am mixing some different techniques using the Dreamweaver Stencils on one card.  First of all I made the background with the Stone wall.  I used pigment ink to color the bricks in grays and brown.  Then I used the Strie Techniques in a dark brown ink over the stones with the stencil in place.  Then I removed the stencil and add some of the Walnut Ink Distress Embossing powder which I sprinkled sparingly over the wet ink.  Once it was heat set, I trimmed it down and mounted it onto a piece of mauve card stock.  For the Shasta Flower, I embossed it with the rubber embossing pad.  With the stencil still on the paper, I used some of the dark ink and Strie over the flowers.  Then I removed the stencil and colored over the embossed image with Copic Markers.  I used Copic colors RV91, RV95, YG93, YG95, YG97, E23, and E25.  Once it was colored to my liking, I fussy cut around the flower.  I added a "Thank You" tag to the card.  After I colored the sentiment, I used a fine line black ink to trace around the words.  Finally I used the Butterfly stencil and embossed the black metal with the Rubber Embossing pad.  Then I sanded the raised portion of the butterfly to remove the black paint from the metal sheet.  I cut around the butterfly and bent the wings to make it more 3-D.  Then I added it to the card.

Love the contrast of the more fragile butterfly and flower against the stone wall!

Loving how you went with the distress powders to give the stone effect. Thinking outside the box on this one Heidi, thanks for your March Madness this week.
